Save a Billion Birds! Launched!

Bird-friendly architecture is a lighting issue as much as it is a material one.
The Zoological Lighting Institute supports bird-friendly architecture initiatives
through an outreach program designed to educating architects, lighting designers and the public.
Birds attracted to artificial night lighting and confused by reflections will strike glass and die. Over one billion birds are killed in the US every year by conservative estimates, taking a toll on environmental processes.
Unprotected window glass and artificial light degrade habitat, and habitat loss is the primary contributor to the rapid biodiversity loss that threatens all our communities. Please help us do our part in promoting awareness, supporting research and creating partnerships by donating now!
